Mini Mica....Amber Stone (Repeat). This is a lovely fingering weight in Superwash Merino 50%/ Silk 50% blend. This yarn is really nice with a beautiful twist. The silk glimmers and glows and the fact that the merino is superwash makes this a high performance yarn. It's Micas little sister. Dapple Solid dye technique. I was looking at Sunflowers and one of the pics made me think of this colorway that we had done in the Coromell Lace. I thought it would work great for the sunflower look I wanted so I brought it back. It looks great on the Mini Mica base and IMHO I think it is my best batch so far. Care:
Handwash cool water, air dry flat.
Note, this is superwash so it can go in the machine but I still prefer to hand wash for longevity. Color bleeding can be normal for hand dyed yarns. I take special care when setting dyes and I thoroughly rinse the yarns. Blues and reds can be difficult to completely exhaust. A good tip is to add some distilled white vinegar to your final rinse water; it will stop the bleeding. I also recommend using a gentle wool wash such as Soak, Eucalan. I always use luke warm water for my knits and handwash even if it is superwash.
