Product Description

Enya Sock...Gooseberry Saffron Tart… Superwash Merino, super soft with extra twist for socks. I love the way this yarn dyes. The extra twist makes the dyes sparkle like little beads. Dapple Solid dye technique. The Tudor Series. A recipe I found from the Tudor period and I just had to dye it. They used Saffron in it. The origianl name was Gooseberry Tart with Saffron Tart Pastry. Yummy! Colors: Bronze like gold and magenta undertones overdyed brown. This is a plume like brown skein and the undertones peak thru to add sparkle. Reminds me a bit of the Heretic colorway but much more brown and fig like. One of my all time favorite plume/fig browns.  Note: With all the pics the cropped detail shot gives the most accurate representation of the true color. Double click it for the best view.

Repeat Colorway. Noble, a silvery grey.
First grey in the Enya base. I really like it. Repeat Colorway. Noble, a silvery grey. First grey in the Enya base. I really like it.  Note: With all the pics the cropped detail shot gives the most accurate representation of the true color. Double click it for the best view.

440 yards enough to make 1 pair of socks but this yarn works great for any next to the skin project. It has extra twist for socks but I love how it works for lace and tapestry weaving as well. You can use it for so much more than just socks.

100% Superwash Merino

For knitting socks I use 0-2 US size needle depending on gauge and stitch.
Lace 4-7 US needle depending on gauge and stitch. These are just estimates that I have used in the past, with socks I knit using a size 0, for Lace it is far more subjective to you project.

Care:
Handwash cool water, air dry flat.
Note, this is superwash so it can go in the machine but I still prefer to hand wash for longevity. Color bleeding can be normal for hand dyed yarns. I take special care when setting dyes and I thoroughly rinse the yarns. Blues and reds can be difficult to completely exhaust. A good tip is to add some distilled white vinegar to your final rinse water; it will stop the bleeding. I also recommend using a gentle wool wash such as Soak, Eucalan. I always use luke warm water for my knits and handwash even if it is superwash.

All of my yarns are dyed with professional dyes for light and wash fastness. I strive to take the best pictures possible but please remember that computer screens may vary with color.
