Customer Service

Thanks for visiting Saffron Dyeworks. All items sold are unique and are one-of-a-kind unless we dye multiple skeins in a very popular colorway. We dye yarn in small batches - usually 20 skeins or less. Once a color has sold out it is gone forever unless we state that it is a repeat colorway. Repeat colors are listed in the Sold Out Colors Archive at the bottom of the category list. Currently, we are not doing custom orders.

We process all orders exclusively thru PayPal allowing you to easily use your Paypal account, bank account, or major credit card to fund your purchase. Payment is expected within 24 hours of purchase and your items will not be shipped before payment is received.

If you make multiple purchases that can be shipped as a single order, we will combine the shipping and refund the extra shipping cost to you as a Saffron Dyeworks store credit. We appreciate your business and strive to avoid any inconvenience or issues that might cause you to pay more shipping than necessary.

Most non-update purchases will be shipped within 24 hours after payment has been received. After scheduled updates, shipping may take up to 48 hours after payment has been recieved. If there are any unexpected delays, you will be contacted as soon as possible. We know you want your yarn fast so we try to be very prompt.

Domestic Shipping
Packages sent within the United States are shipped via USPS Priority Mail. Insurance is optional and will only be added upon request. Saffron Dyeworks is not responsible for lost or damaged packages once they are accepted by the U.S. Postal Service.

International Shipping
Packages sent outside the United States are shipped via USPS First Class International Mail. Please be aware that we cannot offer Delivery Confirmation or insurance for international orders and cannot be held responsible for packages once they are accepted by the U.S. Postal Service. Any additional customs fees that may be incurred are the sole responsibility of the buyer. We reserve the right to refuse shipment to certain countries.

Refunds and Exchanges
We strive to make every skein perfect but sometimes knots, flaws or other imperfections do happen. We want our customers to be happy with what they purchase and we make every effort to inspect our skeins prior to shipment. If for any reason you are disappointed in the quality of the yarn, please let us know and we will do whatever we can to make it right. If it is determined that a return is the best solution, it will be accepted within a 2 week period after purchase in it's original condition (i.e. original skein with label attached) and the original purchase price -less shipping- will either be refunded or credited towards an exchange. Please contact us to arrange the terms of a return before sending it back. Un-announced and un-approved returns will neither be refunded nor exchanged under any circumstances. The buyer is responsible for all costs incurred in shipping the return.

Knots and WhatKnot
Over the course of time we tend to accumulate a number of skeins that have knots and other imperfections in them. Once that pile gets too big to see over, we will have a "Knot Sale" and will list them in our "Knot Quite Perfect" category at a reduced price. These skeins typically number less than 3 per color and represent several updates. We tend to run the knot sales unannounced, on the spur-of-the-moment and on no particular schedule. The best way to keep abreast of them is to keep a regular eye on our "Knot Quite Perfect" category.

Photo Representation
Our yarns are hand-dyed in small batches and due to this process, small variations within batches are commonplace. While we do our best to represent this variation in each batch, your skeins may vary slightly from the photographs you see on your computer screen. Because of this extremely limited control we have over how yarns appear on your monitors, we cannot honor returns or exchange requests based on color alone.

Dogs, cats and turtles
Saffron Dyeworks sports a pet-friendly, non-smoking environment and we make every effort to isolate our yarns from our pets - however - occasionally they do make themselves at home in our studio spaces. Please bear this in mind should you or someone in your family have an allergic hyper-sensitivity to dogs, cats (or turtles).

Please be aware that we do not rewind skeins into center-pull balls or cakes so please don't ask because as much as we hate to say no to our customers, we will.
