Odara…Silk/Merino...Vineyard Grape OOAK. This is a divine base. The silk adds a beautiful sheen and the hand is nice and soft with wonderful drape.
Dapple solid dye technique. Colors: I've had many request for Homemade Wine on Odara again. This is my new version of that one. A deep rich purple. This took days to dye with layer upon layer of color. It also looks great next to Singapore Orchid if you have that one in your stash. This is a very deep rich purple, a labor of love.
As with all images Flickr gives the best representation of the color. Please double check with the Preview pics on Flickr.

Note, this is not superwash it will felt if machine washed. Handwash cool water, air dry flat. I prefer to handwash all of my hand dyed yarns to prolong the life of the color.
Color bleeding can be normal for hand dyed yarns. I take special care when setting dyes and I thoroughly rinse the yarns. Blues and reds can be difficult to completely exhaust. A good tip is to add some distilled white vinegar to your final rinse water; it will stop the bleeding. I also recommend using a gentle wool wash such as Soak, Eucalan. I always use luke warm water for my knits and handwash even if it is superwash.
All of my yarns are dyed with professional dyes for light and wash fastness. I strive to take the best pictures possible but please remember that computer screens may vary with color.
